We are excited here at Burns to see how well our students perform on PASS. Each classroom is preparing for the exams and reviewing the material from the year. The community and staff are very proud of the hard work our students have put in all year. GOOOOO Bears!!!
We Love Our Americorps Volunteers!

 We are excited about all the happenings at Burns this year. Thanks to
the Target/Heart of America organizations we have a new media center.
We invite all parents to come see the new parenting center and contact
us about computer classes offered by the BOWS volunteers. The Meals for
Minds project is giving 22 pounds of free food to every student in the
building each month at the PTA meetings. The meetings are held the third
Thursday of each month at 5:30. Our partnerships with Mt. Moriah
Missionary Baptist Church, the CCSD Leaders are Readers program, BOWS,
and Durham Bus Services are bringing in many mentors for our students.
Our extracurricular activities such as strings, chorus, student council,
and morning news gives our students chances to grow and expand beyond
the academics of the classroom. We look forward to a wonderful year here
at Burns where our motto is "Failure is not an Option!"
